For Editors
Editor
Editors are the beating heart of our journals. We are proud to work with national and international teams of editors who are experts in their respective fields of research. These leading academics steer the development of our titles and ensure we are publishing high-quality research.
The role and responsibilities of an Associate Editor
Associate Editors assess the scope and quality of manuscripts, oversee the peer review process, and make recommendations based on feedback from peer reviewers. As an Associate Editor, you will be responsible for ensuring that the journal continues to publish solid research that is useful for the community it serves.
You will be expected to:
- Handle up to 10 manuscripts per year and send out suitable manuscripts for peer review
- Assess Special Issue proposals
- Suggest topics for new Special Issues
- Provide feedback on the journal’s direction or performance
- Promote the journal among your community to raise awareness of important new research

About Special Issues
A Special Issue is a collection of articles that concentrates on a topical research area within the scope of a journal.
All Special Issues published by NJRER are reviewed and approved by members of the journal's Editorial board.
These Issues provide a venue for research on emerging areas, highlight important subdisciplines, or describe new cross-disciplinary applications.
The following sections explain the benefits and responsibilities of running a Special Issue as a Guest Editor, and the benefits of submitting your manuscript to a Special Issue as an author.
